Who Am I ? My Name is Tuan Pham. I am a fourth year MIS/FIN student at Iowa State University. Currently I am doing a double majors in Information System and Finance. I have 8 months left til I 'll graduate and then no more exams, yeahhhhh !! I want to study investmetn for my MBA, If the time allow. I hope to become a CEO oneday so that I can use what ISU have given me (knowledge). I do not "boldly go where no human has gone before". BUT I would like to try. What Am I Doing Currently. Currently, I am working as a Computer and Internet Consultant for ISU Health and Human performance located in 287 P.E Bldg.I also work for the Principal Financial Group as A information analyst 1 for the claims system. I am involved in the Vietnamese Students Association. Where did I originally come from? I was born in the same year that North and South Vietnam became one country; 1975. My birth place is a small town, Bien Hoa. It is 60km west of the Pacific Ocean in the south-east region of Vietnam next to Saigon. I have two younger sisters and one older sister. Bien Hoa is well known for its location. It is the last city to be taken over by the communist. In the past Bien Hoa was well known for its farming and small industry. Mutinational corporation industry became a recent new industry. Five-stars hotels are currently being built to cater the oversea and rich local tourists. In addition freight and passager railway lines are currently constructed by the Vietnamese and the Chinese governments. This will carries both goods and passagers to and from VietNam as both countries opened their markets for oversea investors. At the age of twelve, my father, my uncle family, grand parents, and I left Vietnam in search for freedom in another country. After many weeks on the rough Pacific Ocean we finally arrived in Puala Bedong Malaysia, in December 1984. We stayed in a refugee camps until 1985. (I could almost write a book about the escape from death and the life of refugees living in camps.(but that would take too LOng). My father and I arrived at Ankeny on January 17 1985. It was very cold that winter as I can recall.. We started a new life with and a hopeful future there. Where did I go to school? I attended a primary school in Ankeny. I went to Park View Jr High School for two years then Ankeny High School for four Years. During my year at Ankeny High School,I made a lot of friends that I still keep in contact with. During my senior year at Ankeny my interest in computer and programming began and grew stronger as i was thinking about college. I enter the highest level of education: UNIVERSITY in 1994. I decided go into Science and technology field at Iowa State University so that one day I could use the world's best technology to search the endless Universe information. What are some of my career goals? I would like to work for a large company that has a challenging work environment with room for advancement. Hopefully this company will be at or near a large city. I can see myself either working in the area of Information Technology, or Finance. Continuing my education will always be a part of my life. In the area of finance, this could be an MBA or CFA. In the Information Technology field this could be certifications from Oracle, Novell or Microsoft. Some of my interest Hobbies: Computer programming, Lift Weight, Games, Web Design,intern, Alternative Music, Girls.. Sports: bowling, volleyball, basketball.
